AMERICAS SOCIETY

“Walls of Air : The Brazilian Pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale” will be open to the public June 12 to August 3, 2019 at the Americas Society. The exhibition attempts to uncover the visible and invisible walls that have built Brazil. It showcases several large scale maps that weave together a narrative of issues that affect not only Brazil but also other countries in the Americas.

Opening Panel with curators Sol Camacho, Laura González Fierro, Gabriel 

Kozlowski, and Marcelo Maia Rosa, moderated by Martino Stierli (The Philip 

Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art, New York), followed by a book signing


TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 6:30 – 8:30PM

Panel Discussion: Fluxes of Architectural Migrations with José Esparza 

Chong Cuy (Executive Director and Chief Curator, Storefront for Art and Archi-

tecture), Julia Morris (postdoctoral fellow, The New School’s Zolberg Institute 

on Migration and Mobility), and Agustin Schang (Manager, Columbia Univer-

sity GSAPP Incubator), moderated by María del Carmen Carrión (independent curator and art critic)

Curators:  Gabriel Kozlowski , Laura González Fierro, Marcelo Maia Rosa and Sol Camacho.
